Copying and pasting the example into xorg.conf didn't work for me because it created some strange characters (I could see them via vim). Manually entering it and changing the identifier to what was specified in "Server Layout" worked without problems in Gusty. Zoom Buttons don't seem to work but the search button (The one by the zoom with the house glass) will act the same as clicking the wheel--which is great because I like to use it to paste highlighted text within a console window and clicking the middle button will often scroll by accident. for those who have trouble getting the keyboard working in linux: I got this working by installing the Logitech software in a Windows machine, then connect keyboard to RF receiver by pressing the little red buttons, set up encryption through the software. The keyboard should now work in Windows. Now just switch the USB RF receiver to the linux machine and the keyboard should work (just the regular keys; I have not found a way to reprogram the special keys).

Hi, just wanted to say this helped me a lot, i had been searching for help on the ubuntu forums too, but didnt find anything i (a new unexperienced user) could use. Just wanted to ask, do your zoom buttons now work too? Mine dont... (not that it matters too much, the forward and backwards buttons matter most). Thank you very much. Ray

thanks, i appreciate it. Because the keyboard doesn't work at all. Hey, Ive got the same keyboard+mouse set, but I'm having problems with the keyboard in ubuntu 7.04. Could you send me your xorg.conf? Ps. THe mouse worked straight out of the box.
